Kivotos is a part of Open Air Factory!paphos

Two days ago I was just walking around Paphos when something got my eyes! I was really surprise that on a huge adverb with the logo of Paphos cultural capital of Europe 2017, I could see a picture of Kivotos gallery's hand crafted items! Look at the O on the "Factory" !







I had no idea about this great honor ! :)
Our city had made a huge effort and hundreds of dedicated volunteers worked hard to prove that Paphos could be the cultural capital of Europe for 2017 !
I feel very proud a little art space like Kivotos gallery that since 1995 is promoting works by local craftsmen was chosen to represent modern aesthetics but also dedication to authenticity.




So, what's the philosophy of Open Air Factory?
I'm copying from Paphos website :

"The actions and events of Pafos artistic programme will be the product of an "open air factory", which by definition does not comply with time nor with territorial boundaries. Neither is it limited to cultural or socio-economic boundaries.

Based on the philosophy of "Linking Continents-Bridging Cultures", the Open-Air Factory produces and exposes culture underneath the open sky and expands in order to embrace all those living in or visiting Pafos- Greek and Turkish Cypriots, EU citizens, as well as citizens around the world."

Winter holidays

Hi all. My best (belated)wishes for the new year. Kivotos will close on Saturday 14/1 for stocktaking and for short holidays. I will let you know about the actual dates. November mood in sunshine!!

We are already in mid November and we are getting ready for Christmas.
Kivotos is getting ready as well! Every day we have new collections coming in. Our associating artists have already sent us some of their new jewellery designs and they are fabulous as always.
You are very wellcome to visit us, browse and make your wish list for Christmas!! Hand made jewellery are the best gifts for your love ones and yourself too :)))

We are also very happy and proud with our new association with the Greek jewellery designer Stella Xenidou. Her work is made of gold plated or silver plated brass and is treaded with a top coat so as the shine and colour of the jewellery is prodected through time. She is also using swarovski crystals that add a glamorous but elegant touch to her designs. Her collection is both unique and affortable for any budget.

Summer is here and we look forward to relaxing afternoons on the beach!!!
For the time beeing though, in Kivotos we are "busy bees" :))) New collections are taking their places in our new windows and we are very proud to say that this is one of the most creative years for all our associating artists!!!!!

Fussing silver, copper, iron, gold ect into glass and firing at 820c results those amazingly beautifull items, perfectly suitable for almost any use. They make lovely gifts that everybody will appreciate.
