Many friends and customers have emailed me in the last couple of weeks asking me info about the situation in Cyprus! There are a lot of rumors going around (especially at UK and Germany) that are totally misleading and wrong.
Cyprus is exactly the same. People are welcoming and relaxed and after the first shock we had we are back at normal rhythms in life! Yes we are watching the News and read the papers (more than we used to ) and yes a lot of discussions and a different kind of awareness is born but that is only natural.
As a visitor you are not affected of anything. You are for sure safe to have your dreamed holidays!!! You can do whatever you used to do on your previous visits. If that's the first time you are visiting Cyprus you will be very soon realizing that you are coming not just in a a sunny and friendly island but at a place that will bring you closer to your heart and feelings and authentic joys in life.
You can use your credit cards to most of the places although some smaller businesses associating with affected banks may not take cards for a few more days. You can still withdraw money from any ATM. There are NO lines of people at ATMs and you can find a bank at every other corner :)
This is the best season to discover natures beauties and real Cyprus pleasures ! Weather is perfect for long walks, lazy mornings by the sea side or late afternoon ouzo and zivania at small village taverns. You can visit Saturday's fruit and vegetable market for your weeks supplies and also to come in touch with the most authentic Cypriot faces of villagers selling their goods or fishermen fixing their fishing nets in frond of their shops.

You can visit Saturday's fruit and vegetable market if you are staying at Paphos and come in touch with the most authentic Cypriot faces of villagers selling their goods or fishermen fixing their fishing nets in frond of their shops.
